This is wat Wenger had to say after the Man U game at Old Trafford:
“Yes we are out. We played with quality and spirit, and I’m very proud of our performance. What can you do? We had plenty of chances and we were really unlucky not to win.” I totally agree with him!
As Wenger promises big spending this summer, I have come to terms with the possibility of the following signings.
Valencia striker David Villa – price £20m to £100m (the reported amount of the buy-out clause). Why: he’s a big admirer of Arsenal’s football.
Porto winger Ricardo Quaresma – price £5m to £31.6m. Why: Porto may get relegated for match fixing and could sell on the cheap.
Werder Bremen midfielder Diego – price £15m. Why: even with that price tag he’s value for money, being a young goalscorer who also sets up as many chances as he despatches.
Palermo striker Amauri – price £19m. Why: if you can score every other game approximately in Serie A, where defences dominate, you ought to find it easier in the Premiership (lol; try telling Andriy Shevchenk that!).
Lyon winger Hatem Ben Arfa – price £10m-£12m. Why: Ben Arfa is unsettled and Wenger has admitted his interest.
Bayern Munich defender Lucio – price £10m. Why: Arsenal desperately need to strengthen their defence and Wenger admires Brazilian players.
PSV Eindhoven midfielder Ismail Aissati – price £15m. Why: he’s been scouted a lot this season yet remains a bit off the radar and is a teenager.
Vitoria Guimaraes midfielder Kamel Fhati Ghilas – price £1.75m. Why: he’s young, cheap, versatile and is not high profile. He was on trial at Arsenal in February and nothing has been confirmed yet.
PSV Eindhoven goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes – price £12m. Why: Arsenal are likely to lose Jens Lehmann on a Bosman this summer and need an experienced international like Gomes to challenge Manuel Almunia next season.
Fiorentina midfielder Zdravko Kuzmanovic – price £5m. Why: sounds like a Wenger type of gamble on an relatively unknown youngster, who has senior international caps for Serbia and an EU passport.
Those bubbling under include:
Feyenoord midfielder Jonathan de Guzman, who describes Arsenal and Barcelona as ‘dream clubs’.
Real Murcia striker Dani Aquino, who is being chased also by Real Madrid (who have first option), Liverpool and Chelsea.
Cardiff City midfielder Aaron Ramsey, who’s going to cost £7m apparently and has been targeted by Manchester United also.
Feed me in on more of your dream signings next season.

its moscow time.we are in moscow for the final and i guess cribar being arsenal fan will support chelsea on 21st.anyway i dont think wenger is going to buy those stars.you know very well wenger’s policies which is to scout for young hungry players and polish them so there is no way he is going to write a check for 18million pound for ben afra or 19m for gareth barry.
