CRIBAR is back on the pedal. Big up to the “K14″.

I gotta say it has been a long 3 weeks since I kissed Chiromo goodbye….a lavishly way to cause lamentation from those folks going back to the den in the coming months. What can I say: Mombasa was a great time, from the night in the cells and the famous trips to the barracks to catch one or two. K14; I just had to mention the brothers and sisters who had a rough up to the NPS (Nyali Police Station). What a terrifying ordeal…..the faces could tell it all. Whooah, the ladies were looking fine and polished to the toe! Poleni sana.

The trip to the lake was an equally amazing one and a nice way I could furnish myself with the outside world. It’s such a hidden treasure in the woods of the Crayfish Camp where it all went down. The parties and the niceties in the form of beautiful people and food. The tents are quite cosy too. All in all, it was the best way to get down to the lounging business just before a cumbersome year ahead of annuities and other actuarial mayhem.

Back in town and the gunners were out in Amsterdam, the “grass” land. Van Persie back home…mmh, and the Basten boys had something to prove to Wenger. Their long awaited dream came true as they went ahead through Suarez and Huntelaar strikes late in the first half. 2-0 at halftime and any arsenal fan would be cursing. It was not to be a fun second half for the home side as the gunners came out firing from all angles. Ade’s well calculated header at the far post reduced the deficit as Niklas Bendtner came off the bench to level things up after a well calculated move from the main man, Adebayor. A perfect one-two with Brazilian youngster Denilson culminated into a third for the gunners and two for Adebayor for the night, sunmming up a pre-season goal spree for the Togolese international.

Final Score 3-2 in favor of Arsenal

Gunners squad taking shape as Nasri signs.

Arsenal on Friday completed the signing of French international midfielder Samir Nasri from Olympique Marseilles FC. The 21-year-old arrives on a long-term contract for an undisclosed fee, believed to be around 12 million pounds ($23.7 million).

Here are some facts you would like to know of the new signing.

1. Samir was born in Marseilles on June 26th, 1987.

2. He joined local side Olympic Marseilles aged just nine years-old, where he earned the nickname ‘le Petit Prince’.

3. Samir broke into the Marseilles first team in the 2004/05 season, starting 13 times – and making a   further 11 substitute appearances – while still only aged 17.

4. In May 2007 Samir beat Manchester United target Karim Benzema to the honour of being named French Ligue 1’s Young Player Of The Year. He was also voted the Marseilles fans’ player of the season.

5. Samir has represented France at every level, from the Under-16s upwards. In 2004 he scored the only goal of the UEFA Under-17 Championship final, in a team that also included Benzema.

6. He made his full international debut for France against Austria on March 15th, 2007, and bagged his first international goal in the Euro 2008 qualifier against Georgia on June 6th of the same year.

7. In September 2007 he was hospitalised with a meningitis-like virus.

8. Aged just 20, Samir Nasri was the youngest member of France’s Euro 2008 squad. He made two appearances at the finals, coming on a sub in the matches against Italy and Romania.

9. Samir’s Algerian heritage – not to mention his prodigious talent – has led to him consistently being labelled ‘the new Zinedine Zidane’.

ARSENE WENGER had this to say on the new signing

“We are delighted to be signing Samir Nasri. He is young, quick and technically an outstanding player. He has shown great potential with his performances for Marseille and the French national team over the past two seasons and he will add great quality to our squad.”

The push to make Prime Minister Raila Odinga a Kikuyu elder got fresh impetus after more than 100 elders endorsed the move. But the Friday meeting at a Kiambu  hotel postponed the event initially planned for July 20. Instead, elders and delegates from the community will hold a consultative forum at the Bomas of Kenya on the same day. Raila has been invited.

The elders resolved former Cabinet minister Njenga Karume and businessman-cum politician Peter Kuguru, co-chair the Bomas session. The secretary to the Kikuyu Council of Elders John Wainana Njuguna said they had postponed the ceremony to allow for further consultations.

Mr Peter Kuguru addresses the Press after a meeting to discuss the installation of Raila Odinga as a Kikuyu elder. With him is Mr Stephen Kakenia

He said they want to ensure the procedure is followed when crowning Raila a Kikuyu elder.

Njuguna said they have chosen elders to ensure the ceremony is done according to Kikuyu customs.

He said Kikuyu elders were not opposed to the ceremony but wanted proper steps followed.

“We have postponed the ceremony to allow for wider consultations and ensure the right procedures are followed. We wanted to ensure it was all-inclusive process,” said Njuguna.

He said the ceremony is part of a wider agenda for the Kikuyu to connect with other communities in the spirit of national healing and cohesion.

“It is not just about the Kikuyu and the Luo. It will be spread to cover the entire country,” he said.

He said it is important for the community to work with others to ensure they can bargain for a good position as when Kibaki leaves in 2012.

The meeting at Wida High Way Motel brought together representatives from Central, Eastern and Rift Valley provinces. Two archbishops, Samson Gaitho and John Mugecha Karume, were present.

Karume did not attend the meeting but sent a representative, Mr Kimani Gakenia, who chaired the Friday meeting.

Exclusive story of kenyan sex-buyer in Oslo, Norway!

I can now reveal that the top kenyan politician accused of buying sex while on official duty in Norway recently is a minister in Kenya’s coalition government. The woman who had sex with the minister now reveals that one man had requested her to report to one Oslo hotel where on arrival she was whisked in to the minister’s room. On arrival in the minister’s room she was served with cold drinks before the minister ordered for room service from the hotel reception. The woman now says she was given money by the minister and she performed sexual acts with him in the room.

Stating angrily that she tried her best to convince the minister to use a condom fearing the killer diseases among them HIV, the woman says she was very disappointed because the minister refused to listen to her request instead of being a responsible leader. When asked why she risked her life having sex without a condom, she said that although she knows of the dangers, she decided not to let down the minsiter after he pleaded that he was going to transfer one million shillings to her on arrival in Kenya. The minister told her that he was not having any sicknesses and that it was an abuse to demand that he uses a condom.

Fearing what could happen, she accepted to do as the minister demanded. The woman has decided to reveal her story because the minister has not kept his part of the deal. He promised to call her as soon as he arrived in Kenya and he was to wire 1 million shillings to her account in Oslo within one day. The woman says she gave in because she needed the money in order to support her brother and sister stranded in the UK and the US after losing the right for their scholarships due to poor grades. The scholarship renewal depends on how hard one works in school to keep grades high.

She is now threatening to make the name public if the minister does not contact her in the next few days. The revelation of the minister’s name is certainly going to cause a crisis within the coalition government. Observers now wonder whether the minister was going to wire the million shillings from his own personal earnings or from his ministry’s account. The minister was among Kenya’s delegation attending a conference two weeks ago in Oslo, Norway. What does this tell us about politicians who love to use the power bestowed upon them to force others to do as they wish?

Years back, some politician could get women to bed easily because the women who were unemployed were willing in exchange for jobs. Now that women are managing to get jobs without resorting to sex with some politicians, these leaders resort to new methods by using tax payers money to buy sex. Most of the politicians doing so, ensure that it happens when they are far away from their own countries and away from their own wives. Politicians are expected to lead the way forward in the fight against the spread of HIV and Aids. They can only do so if they use condoms incase they decide to become adulterous.

1. Is Amos Muhinga Kimunya being sacrificed by one Mwai Kibaki, using Raila and Wako?
When will he be resurrected?

2. It seems that the CBK -once used to be owner of the Grand Regency Hotel – is being let off scot-free.
Did Prof Ndung’u support or oppose the sale in the opaque manner?

3. Who else was involved in the sale?

4. Did H.E Mwai Kibaki know about the sale? If yes, what should be done to him?

5. Will Raila Odinga use his position to make hay while the sun shines? If you know what I mean.

6. Will ODM get a say in the appointment of a new Finance Minister? Who will be the likely successor in case     the position goes back to Mt. Kenya?

7. Has anyone noticed how Martha Karua isn’t her usual abrasive self, defending Kimunya, Kibaki, PNU or the     “Government” as she did during the Annan era?

8. Should Kenya should go the India way & appoint a clean TECHNOCRAT as Finance Minister?

Looking forward to your responses.

What you don’t know about the Grand Regency hotel saga!

Is The “Blood” Hotel also the Cursed Hotel?

We need not argue about the Grand Regency saga from positions of ignorance I must say. I had a lunch of a lifetime at the hotel last week during the N’ASA/TASK’s actuarial convention, and indeed, the hotel potrays an image of class and might, being the only deluxe hotel in the country. Here are some of a few interesting issues and traps that MPs and other kenyans have fallen into, blindfolded!

And my list does NOT include the obvious fact that public property must be sold openly to the highest bidder. Not secretly with the transaction finalized in Amos Kimunya’s favourite bar to avoid the attention of other nosy cabinet colleagues.

Firstly it is important to note that the Kshs 2.9 billion paid will NOT go to the public coffers. In fact this is cash that has mostly already been spent in PNU campaigns in the disgraceful general elections of last December. In other words the hotel was traded for party politics.

I would like to point out that this is a deal that was sealed in June 2007 when your “duly” elected president went to beg for presidential campaign funds in Libya. Since then Kibaki has been under such intense pressure from Col. Muammar Gaddafi to honour the deal and Kimunya “accidentally” alluded to during the press conference where he confirmed that the secret sale had taken place after all. And after earlier appearing on national TV to tell Kenyans that the Grand Regency sale saga was a rumour from some bar.

To make matters worse the Grand Regency did not even rightfully belong to Paul Pattni (or Kamlesh Pattni, or whatever you want to call him) in the first place. While he did pay some money to gain control of it, the truth is that part of the purchase price was paid in human blood. The legitimate owners of the hotel were the Aslam family (remember the former majority shareholder and owner of Pan African bank, Mohammed Aslam) who “conveniently” died under mysterious circumstances the day before he was supposed to give evidence in the Ouko commission investigating the still unsolved murder of the late foreign affairs minister?. Aslam’s wife was hurriedly given a pittance in cash to flee the country with her frightened children and forget about the hotel. Which she did.

Other political fires that have been quietly burning for quite a while are now well above boiling point. Top ODM party officials are livid because Francis Muthaura, on instructions from the “duly” elected president, has been transferring civil servants seen to be sympathetic to ODM all over the place. This Grand Regency saga would seem to be the perfect opportunity for them to go for PNU’s jugular. There is no doubt on my mind, based on the information that I have, that ODM are planning something BIG. I have no idea what it is, but this has to be a tense moment for the nation and our infant coalition government.

The words of South African judge Johann Kriegler last week are still echoing in my mind.

The judge said (while hitting out at political parties for sending hecklers to his public hearings at the KICC last week in an effort to swing the commissions’ sentiments in their favour); “Politics is not for sissies.”

How true can it get.

The photo was snapped by a fan at the Houston International Airport. It was at the airport’s terminal just after playing and scoring for Mexico against Belize two weeks ago. Vela was handed the shirt and asked for a picture, and of course he duly obliged to the call. He even kissed the logo. All the best Carlos….we’re looking forward to having you at the emirates.
